Bureau of Colonization

The Bureau of Colonization is a division of the Federation Secretariat. They are concerned with all phases of colonization efforts from selection of suitable colonies, negotiating details, terraforming and physical colonization efforts, and establishing colonial management and oversight. Their work is primarily concerned with colonization projects involving largely civilian (e.g., non-military) elements, although Starfleet may frequently assist them as requested.

Game History

In 2380, the Bureau's undersecretary co-signed orders with the Federation Science Council for Dr. Lia Zeran, Senior Researcher assigned to Allied Outpost Gamma One, concerning the Joint Trill-Vulcan Gamma Quadrant Colonization Initiative.
