The Cardassian Union is an interstellar power of the Alpha Quadrant. As of 2377 they are occupied and in rebuilding following their role in the losing side of the Dominion War.
Alliance Cardassian Commonwealth
The Commonwealth is a collection of former Cardassian colonies in the Bajor system in the Alpha Quadrant. Although the Federation doesn't have a formal Embassy there, a High Commission formed of five ambassadors, including Varel, from various Alliance governments does administer to the Commonwealth.
