Chaka

Sometimes erroneously called the "Andorian dagger" by other species, the chaka is the signature Andorian weapon. Closer to a human short sword in weight and size, this weapon sports a very unique profile: the weapon's user holds a central haft, wound in some sort of leather or padding, in his fist, and three blades project up and out, two to the sides, and a shorter one straight ahead.

Within this basic design, there are a multitude of variations seen between regions and due to the user's personal preferences: some clans even have their own distinctive chaka designs, recognizable to anyone sufficiently familiar with the weapon. Many chakani have basket hilts to protect their owner's hands, some adapting that covering into a punching weapon not unlike brass knuckles, if brass knuckles also had big spikes on the outside.

The skilled chakasan can be a frightening foe, given that the weapon's design allows its user to punch, slash, chop, and stab: it takes an extremely skilled combatant not to take some sort of injury in a fight with a chakasan.
