The following are ideas for roleplay. The goal is to provide all sorts of hooks and ideas, so people can go anywhere on the ships and roleplay. Players are encouraged to add to the list.

Guidelines

  1. Please do not roleplay things breaking, or at least roleplay it very infrequently. If things "break," often for roleplay, then officers start to look like they're not doing their jobs, and it starts to seem like the station is weak and prone to damage. The lists below provide lots of roleplay ideas which don't involve things just randomly breaking.
  2. You are in no way limited to roleplay in your department's "location." Please feel free to get out and roleplay all over the station. There is lots of stuff for you to do.

Bridge

  • Monitor communications for ships in the area.
  • Maintain scans on nearby space
  • Handle cargo manifests from incoming shuttles and ships
  • Inventory mission gear
  • Handle the flight deck and incoming/outgoing traffic
  • Fill equipment requests
  • Monitor ship systems
  • Check CPU integrity
  • Handle repair requests
  • Monitor repair teams and adjust systems accordingly
  • Run level 3, 4 or 5 diagnostics on systems
  • Check the status of the warp core/ship power systems
  • Monitor test flights of shuttles
  • Calibrate/check Computer Systems, Weapon Systems, Communications or Sensor Systems
  • Handle transport of cargo, supplies or crew of ships
  • Handle either security of tactical consoles
  • Handle threat monitoring for incoming vessels
  • Monitor long range scans for signs of pirates, Dominion activity, suspicious activity
  • Monitor internal security systems.
  • Check logs for suspicious individuals or activity on ship.
  • Long range planetary scans for information, orbit, pollution, etc
  • Monitoring science experiments
  • Delivering reports
  • Assisting with duties as allowed by certifications
  • Requesting repairs/personnel/access to systems


Science Areas

  • Perform and/or monitor science experiments
  • Visit Astrometrics for detailed planetary information
  • Repair power couplings, ODN junctions, science console, command officer consoles
  • Calibrate or run diagnostics on the above.
  • Security patrols through hallways, offices and labs


Housing Decks

  • Repair power couplings, ODN junctions, environmental systems
  • Calibrate or run diagnostics on the above.
  • Repair worn or broken items in personal quarters (replicators, sonic showers, lighting, desk consoles)
  • Security patrols through hallways, empty quarters
  • Operations checks on equipment
  • Delivery of cargo or items requested from the quartermaster


Sickbay

  • Inventory of medical supplies
  • Diagnostics on medical kits, tricoders, biobeds, etc
  • Mock injury treatment for training purposes
  • Instructing nurses (as part of internship training) on medical procedures
  • Researching illnesses and medical conditions
  • Standard psych evals on officers.


Security Office

  • Monitoring security cameras throughout ship.
  • Checking arrival and departure logs for suspicious individuals
  • Checking weapon inventory
  • Repairing weapons, checking charges, calibrating charging banks, etc


Holodecks

  • Department based drills of any sort including medical treatment in combat zone, simulated surgery, repairs during naval combat, bridge duty for combat, bridge duty for planetary atmosphere insertion, close combat drills, energy weapon drills, computer system repairs, planetary survival, first contact situations, exploration situations, etc
  • Installation of training programs, modifying training programs
  • Repairs or maintenance to holodeck hardware


Fitness Center

  • Medical instruction on officer/civilian workouts to prevent injury
  • Repair of workout machines, other related items
  • Department Head led training including running, general fitness or unarmed combat to assist with required skills for OERs
  • Delivery of new equipment
  • Medical, Science or Counseling monitoring of activities for various studies/detailed fitness tests of officers


Shuttlebay

  • Receiving incoming cargo
  • Loading runabouts or shuttles for standard missions or trips
  • Repairing ODN networks, EPS conduits, airlocks, lifts, etc
  • Security patrols
  • Shuttle and runabout repair and testing
  • Monitoring flight deck and ship arrival/departure
  • Preparing shuttles for scientific or engineering missions/work
  • Security checks of shuttle tactical and security systems, and weapons lockers on shuttle/runabouts
  • Department Head led drills for emergency response and missions preparation


Cargo Bays

  • Managing cargo
  • Checking environmental systems
  • Storing or retrieving scientific equipment or samples
  • Inventorying incoming parts or gear for any department
  • Preparing mission gear for upcoming missions
  • Security patrols and access door/hatch checks


Engineering

  • Monitoring power output and efficiency from the warp core
  • Scheduling repairs or maintenance
  • Reparing or running diagnostics on any ship systems
  • Security patrols
  • Science readings and training with a live warp core
  • Medical monitoring of working conditions including radiation
