A Neural Stimualor

The neural stimulator is a medical instrument designed to increase the neural activity within a humanoid brain. They are most commonly used in emergency situations to attempt to prolong functionality of badly injured individual's brain, allowing time for further medical care to be administered. A neural stimulator may also be used to force function of motor nerves in the recently deceased, though use in this manner is likely to draw ethical concerns from Starfleet Medical.
