From Star Trek: Gamma One
In the case of any discrepancy between the news files on the game and those here on the wiki, the news files on the game are correct version.
Participation on Star Trek: Gamma One is provided based on agreement by the Player to the following rules. The term 'Player' applies to both the character and the person playing the character for the purposes of this Acceptable Use Policy.
- The Player understands that privacy is not guaranteed. The staff will make every attempt to maintain privacy and will act in a ethical manner. (See 'news admin ethics' for more information). In reality though, this is a text medium occurring over the internet. Transmissions to and from the game are in plain text. The game is always potentially vulnerable to attacks. Staff will make every attempt to protect your privacy, but no guarantees can be made.
- The Player understands access to and participation in this game are privileges provided Free of Charge by the game owners. This privilege is granted with the condition that the Player understands and follows all rules relating to the game. Those rules include both the Out Of Character and In Character rules for behavior, conduct and role-play.
- Attacks made against the server, the website, the mailing lists, the game or the coded systems are considered hacking attempts. This will be dealt with by site banning the Player. Further, the Player agrees not to use the Game for anything that may be construed as illegal or a risk to the continuance of the game. This includes, but is not limited to, use or distribution of copyrighted materials, producing 'Spam', forgery, or hacking.
- The Player acknowledges that he/she is over 18 years of age or the Age of Majority in his/her country, or that he/she is the minor child of a parent or parents who have given informed consent for he/she to take part here, knowing that he/she are likely to be exposed to mature themes and content. In either case, the Player's continued presence here constitutes an implied contract that neither the Player nor the Player's parents nor guardians will take action against this game or its staff for any contents or policy which might disturb or offend the Player.
- The Player acknowledges that the Game Owners, or Staff acting on their behalf, may investigate the actions of a Player which may be compromising the game, the safety of the game, other Players, or which may be negatively affecting the database.
- The player understands that behavior in public locations and forums must be polite and professional. We ask you to limit content and language to that which would appear on a Star Trek television show, and that you deal with other players in a professional and polite manner.
- The Player understands that compliance to these rules, and all information provided in the policies section of news is a condition of playing at this game.
