In the case of any discrepancy between the news files on the game and those here on the wiki, the news files on the game are correct version.

Star Trek: Gamma One should be considered a consent-based game. However, it is important to note that consent need not always be explicit, and that it can be implied by, and inferred from, in-character actions. If your character insults another, picks a fight, refuses to obey an order, or otherwise performs an IC action that has repercussions then you and your character have consented to the consequences.

NOTE: The above includes death. If your actions are serious enough, they can indeed result in the death of your character. For example, your characterhas no sword skills and insults and challenges a trained warrior to a duel to the death. That warrior will have the skill to fight your character and kill him.

Staff run episodes also fall into this rule. If your character acts reasonably then staff will never try to kill or seriously injure you. However, if the character does something unreasonable or out of line then this can result in the death of the character.
