A Dramatic Success can only occur when you are rolling against a difficulty, and not when you're just rolling or performing Opposed Rolls. A Possible Dramatic Success is scored when your roll is 6 points or more higher than the difficulty. IE, if you rolled a 13 when the difficulty was a 6, it is a Possible Dramatic Success. On the other hand if you rolled a 13 when the difficulty was a 9 then it is just a Success.

It is called a Possible Dramatic Success for two reasons. First, a Dramatic Success only occurs in a staff-moderated scene. Second, not all situations can have a bonus success. If you are trying to stun someone, then you succeed or you don't. You can't really stun them dramatically.

A Dramatic Success IS NOT the same as rolling a 6 on the Drama Die.
