News Files:Exchange Officers

In the case of any discrepancy between the news files on the game and those here on the wiki, the news files on the game are correct version.
Exchange Officers are experienced officers of allied governments (Klingons, and Romulans*) who are serving a tour of duty aboard a Starfleet vessel. They are subject to certain guidelines outlined below.
- Exchange Officers may have a rank up to LCDR, or the maximum rank of their billet, whichever is less.
- Exchange Officers may not serve in a Line Officer billet.
- Exchange Officers are typically in Operations, Engineering, Medical and Science. However, they may be allowed in Command and Security. Applications for such will be considered on an individual basis.
- Exchange Officers must be experienced. This means no Cadet-equivalent officers, and Ensign-equivalent officer officers must show through their background and service record they are experienced officers.
Currently Bajoran Milita officers will serve in the Bajoran Militia contingent and not as Exchange officers. This will continue until the Bajorans either join the Federation or the alliance. The Cardassian are in a state of flux, and until that changes they can not serve as Exchange Officers.
