Star Trek: Gamma One is set in the Gamma Quadrant. With the exception of narrated set pieces at the opening or conclusion of any plot, which might involve writer-posed action on the Alpha Quadrant side of the Bajoran Wormhole, all of the action takes place in the Gamma Quadrant. More specifically, the action takes place within what we call a 'meta-sector', a three-by-three-by-three sector block with the center block each of the X, Y, and Z axes being the 'main sector' of the action. This gives a primary radius of between 8 and 12 light years, and an extended secondary radius of between 25 and 35 light years in any direction for the action of the series, which we think large enough for our purposes. The sectors section of the Star Trek: Gamma One website make this clearer, so no more need really be said. For now, it is enough to note that, as of the first 'pilot' episode of Season 1, the Sisyphus-Tantalus binary star system in Sisyphus Sector is the 'home' system of the 'home' sector, the place where USS Vanguard gives birth to Outpost Gamma One with USS Marathon standing by as the metaphorical midwife.
