Office of Starfleet Chief of Staff

The Office of the Starfleet Chief of Staff consists of the officer with the highest jurisdiction in Starfleet, the Chief of Staff, and his or her executive command staff, which includes the following personnel and their respective offices: the Chief of Fleet Operations, the Chief of Interplanetary Affairs, the Chief of Research and Exploration, the Commandant of Starfleet Academy, and the Chief of Security & Strategic Operations. The Chief of Staff reports directly to the Federation Council and generally carries the rank of Admiral.

A small array of administrative services personnel, such as aide-de-camps and attaches, may be directly assigned to the Office of the Chief of Staff, which is based out of Starfleet Headquarters in San Francisco on Earth.
