PADD
A PADD (Personal Access Display Device) is powerful hand held computer, storing several billion pages of text and pictures on two isolinear chips. They have a high resolution touch screen and multifunction buttons. They contain a subspace transceiver that allows the PADD to communicate with other devices (generally the main computer of the starbase or starship to which the user is assigned) up to 40,000 kilometers away.
