Ranger-class

The Ranger-class ship (now considered obsolete) was from 2215 to 2230s the top of the line Federation Starship. While the ship suffered tactically and scientifically due to having an underpowered computer, the ship was the first to use new Tritanium construction methods as well as having the best impulse engines of its day. What it lacked in sensor power it made up for in maneuverability. The last Ranger-class was decommissioned in 2269 when plans to update the class were scrapped in favor of the Miranda and Illustrious Projects.
