Zaldan Beachfighting
Zaldan Beachfighting is a traditional Zaldan martial art which is designed to be especially effective in and around water, emphasizing the use of kicks and grappling in order to knock the wind out of an opponent and then prevent him from taking another breath with painful submission holds. While many practice the art solely for purposes of exercise, discipline, and self-defense, competitions are frequently held for those who are interested in participating.
This style's proper Zaldan name is Zarillin-Dor, a possessive substantive adjective that roughly translates to "that which belongs to the Warrior of the Breaking Waves," presumably because the art is most effective on shoreline, beach, or shallow water areas, where a skilled practitioner can move fluidly from ground to water and back again as necessary for tactical purposes. However, only Zaldans (and non-Zaldans who have actually studied the art under Zaldan masters) identify it by its true name.
- LTJG Danzia is a devoted student of the art.
