Standard Operating Procedure refers to the day to day guidelines in place on various Starfleet ships and stations. These cover items like filing complaints, when to arm oneself, how to requisition a shuttle for a mission, rules about fraternization and about discipline options. In game terms these are the basic guidelines and rules that officers follow while roleplaying.

Known most of the time as SOP for short, they are guidelines stored on the game itself. You can access these files through the '+sop' command.
