Dossier
Tralan Andril is one of the few heroes of the Resistance who never set foot on Bajor until after the Cardassians had left. He spent his teenage years and a good portion of his twenties harassing Cardassian shipping and warships to deny the occupying forces on Bajor the supplies that they needed to keep their grip tight on the planet. It is said that he has the blessing of the Prophets; the mortality rate for the Resistance in space approached 95 percent, and yet Andril was never seriously injured while in action.
Post-Occupation, he was granted a commission in the Bajoran Militia at the rank of Major in recognition of his long service to the cause of Bajoran independence. He was assigned as the commanding officer of MS Boryas, travelling a regular route between Federation Starbase 375 and Bajor carrying relief supplies. Following the coup attempt by the Alliance for Global Unity (also commonly known as 'The Circle') in 2370, he resigned his commission and left Bajor for parts unknown.
(It has been suggested, but not confirmed, that Major Tralan was in the Demilitarized Zone between the Federation and the Cardassian Union at this time. He has also been tenatively linked with the Maquis resistance which operated in the Zone until 2373.)
Major Tralan resurfaced in 2375 after the First Battle of Deep Space Nine. He had been farming in a remote part of Kendra Province, but his opposition to a Cardassian presence in Bajoran territory brought him back to the Militia as an instructor at the Bajoran Military Academy, specifically for the Aerospace Operations group. He served in this capacity until 2377, when he was dispatched as the Troop Commander of the Bajoran Militia contingent serving with the Starfleet Task Force Gamma One. With the completion of Outpost Gamma One, he received a positional promotion to Battalion Commander and command of the 88th Joint Operations Battalion, while he was promote to Field Colonel at the beginning of 2380.

"The Enemy of the Good": Stardate 55911.3: Tralan led a covert mission to New Bajor at the request of the local Bajoran Militia staff to investigate the Ferengi on planet. "The Remaining Third Empty": Stardate 55971.3: Tralan and his troop were stranded on New Bajor when the Cardassians and Ferengi blockaded the planet during the abortive attempt to repossess the planet. "The Opposite of Never": Stardate 56357.8: Tralan commanded Shuttle Anaximander in an effort to retake USS Cascade, which had been seized by Dominion forces. Before actually setting foot on the Cascade, however, a Federation starship from the future intervened in the situation, recruiting the mission team to retake the Cascade. In the process, it was revealed that another temporal iteration of Major Tralan had conspired with Sublieutenant Jadil Kayton to prevent the Founders from regrouping after being given the cure to the Section 31 virus, thus destroying the Dominion. The mission was classified under Starfleet's Temporal Prime Directive.
"A Very Bad Sign": Stardate 56432.2: Tralan was part of a mission team to destroy the Klingon ship that crash-landed in the Yumelan desert, planting explosives throughout the ship. He placed extra explosives to ensure the destruction of a shuttle discovered with two Klingon corpses aboard.

After operating the manual release controls, the Major was on-hand for the discovery of a third race, neither Bajoran nor Hai-Stakar, that were the apparent pilots of the ship.
"To Lie for Eons in Darkness" Stardate 56545.2: Tralan led an assault team to a series of caverns beneath the surface of New Bethlehem in pursuit of Cardassians that were attempting to claim the planet for their own. After a cave-in claimed the life of one of the officers under his command, the discovery of ancient skeletal remains, the planet turning suicidal, and being forced to abandon Ensign Ivari beneath the surface, Tralan led the remainder of his force to seize the Cardassians' shuttlecraft and escape the planet.
"The Temporary Good" Stardate 56552.2: Tralan led a covert insertion, contrary to wider Task Force orders, on Stakoron IV to ascertain the strength of the slave rebellion ignited by a previous mission. In the process, the insertion team was duped by Doctor Mande Muda into distributing a compound that, when allowed to interact with the non-lethal weapons of the Hai-Stakar security forces, caused a toxic reaction and killed several dozen Bajoran slaves.
"Answerable Not for the Rightness" Stardate 56607.2: Tralan, along with Bara, Nyhs, and Girah, returns to the Temple of Iponu on Bajor to consult with the Orb of Time in an effort to discern what brought the situation on Stakoron IV into existance. After witnessing some rather confusing imagery, the Prophets revealed that the Hai-Stakar were incited to violence by a Pah-Wraith masquerading as one of the mysterious third race of aliens found aboard the sunken vessel.
"A Taunting Task" Stardate 56621.8: Tralan, once again commanding the Shuttlecraft Anaximander with Girah as his co-pilot, is pitted against Lieutenants Gwyn and Santos in a mock-wargame that is actually a reconnaissance mission in disguise. In the midst of their simulated combat, it is discovered that a Klingon Bird-of-Prey has been hiding in Marathon's "blind spot", but damage from both shuttles forces the Klingon vessel's withdrawal.
"And Accounting of Lives"/"The Last Disciple of Opaka" Stardate 56883.3: Called upon the investigate a distress signal broadcast from Opaka's Moon, Tralan commanded MS Li Nalas to the Ennis System and through the satellite blockade to encounter Kai Opaka Sulan on the planet's surface. Once there, Opaka asked for the Militia's help in destroying a piece of equipment that was responsible for the operation of the nanites that made all the planet's inhabitants immortal, after which the crew of Li Nalas removed several refugees to the Bajoran Embassy on Parada.
It was enroute to Parada that the crew of Li Nalas received word that Opaka had been permanently killed in a skirmish. Major Tralan ordered a return to the planet to recover her remains, after which she was entombed in the Celestial Temple.
"A Mirror Uncracked II" Stardate 56955.7: Tralan encountered Captain Tralan Andril of the Sovereign-class starship USS Avek from another universe. There was instant, abiding, and palpable dislike between the two of them as each sized up their reflection and found it wanting.

"The Birds of the Air"/"In Due Season" Stardate 57082.3: Ordered to Yumela Prime by the Militia to investigate the possibility of Pah-Wraith cult on the planet, Li Nalas paid a visit to the Yumelan Warning Buoy to obtain permission to land at a monastery on the planet proper. Invited on a raid with the warriors of the religious caste, the combined Militia/Starfleet team was present as cultists ambushed the warriors, and after an order from the Major, stood aside as more than twenty were slaughtered in a booby-trap that the Bajorans could have prevented them from being caught in.
After extraction of the bulk of the mission team, Tralan descended into a dry well, where a group of Wraith cultists were waiting specifically for him. It was there that he discovered a rune-covered metal rod that indicated the Wraith intended to watch his victory through the Major's eyes.
"Sufficient Unto the Day" Stardate 57199.4: During a meeting with Major Joda in the Oasis Bar, a Klingon national spontaneously combusted during a confrontation with a nearby Romulan that was revealed to be the Pah-Wraith in disguise. Tralan helped distract the Wraith long enough for the crew in Operations to activate the so-called "O'Brien Protocols" in the station's forcefield emitters. The Wraith was expelled, possibly escaping with a trio of Starfleet officers from the future, led by Captain Maximillian Boran.
"With the Tools We Have" Stardate 57248.3: MS Li Nalas was launched on a rescue mission to Yumela after MS Holana, a Danube-class runabout, was apparently shot down. With Field Colonel Ros Taiune watching over their shoulders, the crew of Li Nalas managed to rescue two survivors and the remains of several others, but was forced to leave behind a trio of monks that were along with the Militia crew.
"And the Choices We Have Made" Stardate 57255.1: The final verdict by Colonel Ros, II Bajoran Militia Expeditionary Force's Inspector General, is issued for the command staff of the 88th Joint Operations Battalion. The verdict for Major Tralan is that there can be no verdict, because the Colonel believes that there is no way to truly reach the man. After a public apology, Colonel Ros decides to sit down with the Major for a final discussion before his departure.
"Toppling Technocracy Part II" Stardate 57305.8: USS Tripoli, Outpost Gamma One's resident Federation starship, encounters a Ra battle force enroute to System 53809. In the middle of the opening posturing between LT Carno Durgan and the Ra ships, a Ra tactical shuttle appears between the two ships and uses microtorpedoes to destablize the larger of the two threat vessels' warp field. In the battle that follows, it is revealed that the Ra shuttle is crewed by the newly-promoted Field Colonel Tralan Andril, Major Bara Nar, Troop Captain Nyhs Jara, and LCDR(Ret.) Verity Cohen, freshly escaped from a detention cell aboard a Ra base in the system. Colonel Tralan declined Starfleet's rescue, citing the massive amount of Ra intelligence that the shuttle's memory banks contained, and actively evaded both Starfleet and the Ra until ultimately rescued by USS Aquarius.
