A Starfleet freighter. In 2265, the ship was conducting a training mission for Starfleet Academy, under the command of then-Fleet Captain Christopher Pike, when it was damaged by a spatial hazard. The ship was immediately placed under the command of Brevet Captain Henrik Schuyler who maintained that command and Pike's related duties on a temporary basis without benefit of the Fleet Captain's rank until a Board of Inquiry settled all of Starfleet Command's concerns in the matter.

In primary, Paramount-approved, Trek canon, the name of the J-class training vessel on which Pike suffered his delta radiation exposure that would eventually leave him crippled was never given. We are giving it here. For our purposes, that was this ship.
